When I woke up there was already a few of them up making coffee. I started to pack up all my stuff while I waited for the water to boil. Eventually everyone woke up and started to pack up there stuff and taking down the tents/hammocks.

Waking up today would be the best day of the weekend. The weather was beautiful, well at least compared to the last two days. Everyone got some much-needed breakfast in them to get ready for an eventful day.

It was finally time to get into our canoes to explore the lake. Across from our campsite on the small island of McCraney Lake is the portage to Clara Lake. On this portage, a waterfall goes down into McCraney Lake...

Woke up to the weather being cloudy and foggy. Few of my friends were already up and had the fire started with water boiling for coffee/tea. Shortly after that, everyone was up and we took turns making our breakfast. Now that we were all feed, dry and had a night rest, we looked at out tarp shelter we made yesterday and decided that it could be better. After thinking and discussing on what would work best, we went to work tying ropes from tree to tree and getting the tarps set up right in case today turned out like yesterday.

There was eight of us going into Algonquin Park for the Civic Long weekend in August. Three canoes and two kayaks. We started at Rain Lake Access Point 4, which is located at longitude/latitude of 45.603500°, -78.952518°. This was my first time entering the park on this side. This year we rented our canoes/kayaks from Algonquin Basecamp, which is located across the road from the Kearney Community Center, which is where you pick up your camping permits.
